FUNDAMENTAL BASES OF THE BACK ON THE HORSE INSTITUTE'S EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

In the last few decades, in addition to all the important roles it has played in history, the horse has acquired an additional mission - it has become a member of the therapeutic team and an assistant and collaborator in the process of interventions with the help of the horse.

In the developed world, horse-assisted therapy (TPK) already represents an important part of medical and psychosocial rehabilitation, as well as psychotherapeutic, special and social pedagogical treatment of persons with special needs and mental health problems.

Activities with the help of horses (APK) also offer many other innovative options and approaches for pedagogical work and the implementation of a wide variety of activities with and on horses for all age groups of children and adolescents, adults and the elderly.

The field of interventions with the help of a horse therefore represents an opportunity for professional specialization for various professional profiles who want to act towards their users, clients and patients according to the principles of a holistic approach, lifelong growth and education, and thereby contribute to a higher quality of their lives.

Working in a team with a horse and alongside a horse is very demanding, as it is necessary to master a wide range of special skills: knowledge about horses, professional knowledge, communication and social skills for working with people and the ability to cooperate in a team. The good training of all participating professionals and their attitude and openness to lifelong education are extremely important.

For many years, we have been successfully training professional workers to work in the field of A/TPK in Slovenia and abroad. By constantly supplementing and upgrading existing and developing new programs, we try to follow educational trends and needs in the field of A/TPK. Internationally renowned Slovenian and other European lecturers participate in our programs.

Lectures are held in Slovenian and partly in English. The learning content is given in the form of theoretical lectures, practical workshops, internships, simulations and other forms of work, which enable students to gain direct experience, skills and competences according to the principles of the modern way of studying.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

PROGRAM "THERAPIST FOR PERFORMING HORSE-ASSISTED THERAPY"

Scope and duration of the program
The program lasts 18 months and comprises 600 teaching hours, divided into nine different content modules and an additional exam module.

Enrollment conditions
– completed at least VI/2. level of appropriate education – professionals in the field of healthcare, education or social care
- at least 3 years of experience working with people
- previous experience working with horses and knowledge of dressage riding at the basic level is desirable

Registration fee and payment terms
The registration fee for enrolling in the educational program is EUR 3,600.00 including VAT.

PROGRAM "ASSISTANT FOR PERFORMING HORSE-ASSISTED THERAPY"

Scope and duration of the program
The program lasts 18 months and includes 300 teaching hours, divided into nine different content modules and an additional exam module.

Enrollment conditions
– completed V. level of education in any field
- at least 3 years of experience working with people
- previous experience working with horses and knowledge of dressage riding at the basic level is desirable

Registration fee and payment terms
The registration fee for enrollment in the educational program is EUR 2,700.00 including VAT.

THE "HORSE'S GUIDE IN HORSE-ASSISTED INTERVENTION PROGRAMS" PROGRAM

Scope and duration of the program
The program lasts 4 months and includes 90 teaching hours, divided into four different content modules and an additional exam module.

Enrollment conditions
– completed at least IV. level of education of any field
- at least 1 year of experience working with people
- at least 3 years of experience working with horses
– the knowledge of lunging a horse
- knowledge of dressage riding at the basic level

Registration fee and payment terms
The registration fee for enrollment in the educational program is EUR 1,200.00 including VAT.

PROGRAM "PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATE FOR PERFORMING ACTIVITIES WITH THE HELP OF A HORSE"

Scope and duration of the program
The program lasts 4 months and comprises 120 teaching hours, divided into five different content modules and an additional exam module.

Enrollment conditions
– completed IV. or V. level of education in any field
- at least 1 year of experience working with people
- at least 3 years of experience working with horses
- previous experience working with horses and knowledge of dressage riding at the basic level is desirable

Registration fee and payment terms
The registration fee for enrolling in the educational program is EUR 2,400.00 including VAT.
