SUCCESSFULLY HELD THE XIV SYMPOSIUM ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FIELD OF HORSE-ASSISTED INTERVENTIONS IN SLOVENIA

XIV. the symposium took place on October 13 and 14 in Sternthal Castle, Kidričevo and at the headquarters of the Back to the Horse Institute in Starošince.

This year's invited lecturers were:
- assistant prof. dr. Tine Kovačič from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ljubljana and head of the medical rehabilitation department of CUDV Dobrna, who spoke about the importance of science in the field of horse-assisted interventions and encouraged us to start systematically recording and publishing our work in scientific papers
and
– dr. Rada Rakočević from the Faculty of Pedagogy (Independent University of Banja Luka), who with her many years of rich experience vividly showed us the extraordinary effects of movement on a horse and its contribution to the holistic development of a child.

We also heard many other interesting contributions on the following topics:
– EFFECT OF HORSE THERAPY ON PATIENTS AFTER STROKE (Klavdija Možina, Dipl.del.ter., Master of Science, Neurological Clinic Ljubljana, UKC Ljubljana)
– OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDED BY HORSE-ASSISTED INTERVENTIONS (Silva Bajde, Dipl.del.ter., CUDV Dolfke Boštjančič Draga)
– PRESENTATION OF ŠTK PEGASUS (Irena K. Kovač, prof. of physical education, kinesiologist, Primary School Gabrovka-Dole, Sports Therapy Club Pegasus and Špela Kadunc, prof. of physical education, Pupils' Dorm of Gymnasium Šiška)
– 26! WHAT NOW?! (Sergeja Muršič, professor of history and sociology, group habilitation, ZUDV Dornava)
– ENCOURAGEMENT AND PROVIDING FEEDBACK – OPPORTUNITIES WHEN WORKING WITH HORSES (Maša Bastič, dipl.biopsih., Zazaj na konja Institute)
– WITH HORSES FOR BETTER RELATIONSHIPS IN THE CLASSROOM (Kaja Koleša, Dipl. Soc. Del., Zazaj na konja Institute)
– INCLUSION OF HORSE-ASSISTED THERAPY IN THE PRIMARY SCHOOL PROGRAM (Andreja Zega, professor of classroom instruction, Fran Erjavac Primary School Nova Gorica)
– BREATHING TECHNIQUES WITH THE HELP OF A HORSE (Nina Partljič, dipl. biopsych., consultant at Cirkovce Elementary School and the Back to the Horse Institute)
– THERAPEUTIC FOREST PATH – THERAPIST (Liljana Cirar, diploma in child education, Kindergarten Litija and Nina Cirar, student social pedagogue)

At the end of the first day of the symposium, we ceremoniously awarded DIPLOMAS for the successfully completed two-year specialization "Therapist for carrying out therapy with the help of a horse". We are proud to announce that the 75th diploma was awarded in Slovenia!

On Saturday, we continued with experiential workshops conducted by Silva Bajde, Dipl.del.ter. with CUDV Dolfke Boštjančič Draga and Metka Demšar Goljevšček, univ.dipl.ped. and soc. cult. from the Back to the Horse Institute, namely on the subject:
– OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDED BY HORSE-ASSISTED INTERVENTIONS
- RESPONSES TO THE HORSE'S NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION - AN OPPORTUNITY TO CONNECT AND CREATE A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE HORSE

The conclusions of the symposium bring many new things, which we will report on in the coming days...
